
German language is an easy-to-learn language and is spoken by over 120 million people across the globe. German language is a member of the Indo- European language family and is national and official language of Germany, Switzerland and Austria. It also enjoys official status in Italy (South Tirol), Belgium (East Cantons), Luxembourg, and Liechtenstein. Moreover, it is an important language in the new economies of Eastern and Central Europe and European Union. If one wants to explore few developed countries of world, then he or she must learn German language.
Learning German language won’t be difficult for a person if he knows English as both German and English are West-Germanic members of the Indo-European language family. German language has 30 alphabets, out of which 26 alphabets are similar to English language that is A to Z. The remaining four letters belong solely to the German language alphabets which are ß, ü, ö, and ä. However, the pronunciation varies for both German and English alphabets.
Though German language has several long-established regional diversities which vary from region to region, it is the Standard German which is commonly or extensively taught in universities and schools of European countries and other parts of globe. It is worthwhile to learn German as it is spoken widely and is a very attractive foreign language.
German is recognized as official language by the most significant international institutions such as: - World Association of Newspapers, Fédération Internationale de Ski – FIS, inter alia Fédération Internationale de Football Association – FIFA etc. In Canada, more than 1.5% of the total population speaks German as native language and over 1.5 million people in the United States speak German for which reason it succeeded as the 5th most spoken language
